Professional Background
Buck Forcum joined Newmark Knight Frank in 2006 to help start and manage its Nashville, Tennessee office. As Principal, Mr. Forcum is responsible for the strategic direction, growth and success of the Tennessee submarkets. He is experienced in both tenant and owner representation, and has served as the exclusive leasing agent for office buildings totaling well over 1,500,000 square feet. He is one of fewer than twenty brokers in the state of Tennessee to have received both CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment member) and SIOR (Society of Office and Industrial Realtors) designations.
Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. Forcum was Senior Broker for the Office Group at Grubb & Ellis|Centennial, where he exclusively represented tenants including General Electric, ITT, Square D Company, Managed Care USA, USF&G Insurance, Mass Mutual Insurance, Morgan Stanley, American General Insurance, Foundation Health, OrthoLink, Travelers Insurance, SunTrust Bank, Manier & Herod, J. Alexander’s and Stewart Estes & Donnell.
In addition to his tenant representation work, Mr. Forcum has represented sellers and lessors including SmithKline Beecham, New York Life, Comdata Network, The Prudential Insurance Company, Upjohn Pharmaceuticals, The Hartford Insurance Company, Aegon USA, Mass Mutual Insurance Company, United Companies Life Insurance Company, The Archon Group and Financial Enterprises.
Professional and Community Affiliations
Mr. Forcum’s industry affiliations include appointments as vice president and secretary of the Middle Tennessee CCIM chapter, Chairman of the CCIM Education Committee, Treasurer of the East Tennessee SIOR Chapter, Board of Directors of the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors in 1996 and 1997, charter member of the Commercial Investment Division of the Nashville Board of Realtors and Chairman of the Taxation Committee and Awards of Excellence Committee of the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors, from whom he has also received a lifetime award of excellence. In 2006 and 2007 he served on the Members Services Committee of the national CCIM organization and on the Benefits and Services Committee of the national SIOR organization.
Presently, Mr. Forcum is on the board of STARS (Students Taking a Right Stand). He has also co-chaired this organization’s development committee and has served on the executive committee.
Education
Mr. Forcum received his Masters in Business Administration Finance from Memphis State University as well as Bachelors of Science in Real Estate and Finance from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. |
